Hello everyone, my name is Michael M. Harrington, AKA (Broadway Mike.) I identify as he/him/his. My sexuality is gay. My favorite thing to do is to perform for others on stage and make people happy when I see them. Activities I love to do are biking, playing Pickleball, and going dancing with friends. I am very open about my sexuality, and will always explain others about the LGBTQ community.

So I first came out at 18 in 2011, only to my close friends in High School. They were totally accepting. It wasn’t until 2015 that I needed to come out to my parents. It was very hard for me to come out to them in the beginning, but then I said to myself, “I have to do it.” So I came out, and I was amazed to find out that they were absolutely fine with it. My first feeling was relief, then like a ton of bricks where off of my chest. It was just a joy to know my parents would still love me for who I am. And still to this day, my parents still accept me. It can be hard to come out to your parents, but if you get the courage to do it, you’ll be amazed that most likely your parents will be accepting. If not I am a friend who’ll be here for you and stand up for your rights.

Since 2016 I have been a member of Pride for Youth. PFY Is open to those who Identify as GBTQ males 17-30years old. They have free lube, condoms, and HIV testing. Plus you get to be in the NYC pride march in June if you become a member of PFY. If your interested in more call: (516) 679-9000. It is a blessing that PFY exists.
