My name is Kalob. It’s pronounced like Caleb, but everyone says it like Kuh-Lob - that works too! I identify as a cisgender, gay male; and my passion is to empower those in the LGBTQ+ community to live healthier, enhanced lives. By pursuing my passion, I landed in the HIV field and now manage a PrEP program at @DamienCenter in Indianapolis, IN. This revolutionary prevention tool could help end the epidemic, but many who needs it most are still not accessing it. I am working diligently with my team to increase awareness and use of PrEP in all of our communities by utilizing multiple communication channels, including: community education on Grindr, forming collaborative efforts with other AIDS Services Organizations, facilitating group discussions with high-risk populations, and even utilizing my personal social media accounts to educate those closest to me. We must continue to fight to see the end of HIV/AIDS; and that starts when we begin utilizing our communities as the solution rather than labeling them as the problem. Stand UP, speak OUT, and move FORWARD!
